My Sand Change

You are right, it is blue but the reverse side of it is black. I was just afraid it would be too dark.

lol, sorry i was confused, i didnt think you could turn it around, how about you try it and see what its like, and post a picture maybe and people can reply and say their oppinions if they think it is nicer or not.

I think the black would look great. Gf over at the planted forum has an extremely dark substrate and a black background. With his huge java fern and beautiful cardinals, it is a really effective backdrop. My substrate's natural gravel, but I just added black to three sides and I really like the look.

The blue looks good, too. Hmmm, tempted to go sand...

I doubt I can switch it now that the tank is set up. I can't get my hands behind it.

Ive just set up a new tank for my blue lobster using sand, I used play sand I got from Homebase......it took a lot of cleaning and even then when I added the water it was cloudy, I set it up yesterday and couldnt see more that a couple of inches into the tank from the end thismorning I added a bit of interpet 'filter aid' today and its pretty much clear and thats only been 2 hours......that and filter wool in the work a treat!

The air bubbles in the background are from where I used vaseline to attach it and the bubbles formed. I did not see them when I was setting it back up. I am trying to figure out how to remove them now.

Could you use one of those glass scrapers on a stick to push the bubbles to the end, kind of like wallpapering?

I'm going to try to find some type small roller like what is used on the seams of wallpaper but I don't know if I can find anything like that or not. I used a wallpaper brush when I put it on but I guess I didn't get them all. Once the plants grow up it won't be nearly as noticable anyway.

The ice scraper for windscreens might do the trick
