My Sajica

here he is now....

His healed up now, but thats him from bout over a month ago, he was in a fight with my other sajica(hence the mouth white tip), the divider fell down but the divider is up and wont come down this time


And here is another of my guys, this guy is great too, without the hump , im sure his will grow with age(what u think it will ? ), his got a mini hump so far.

I might have a female for 2 guys, or just 1 female soon for 1 lucky guy.

Nice Sajica! They're great fish aren't they? I have a 4inch male.
If a male is given enough space and it's somewhere he can relax but know he's in charge, he will get a hump. Not to mention the long flowing fins 8)

It is very cool, I raised mine on brineshrimp and microworm. They spawned in this.

Very nice Sajica Saboy, he has an impressive hump-quite a bit bigger than my guy
Get him a female asap, these fish are great parents and great to watch them raising the fry.

Radar is correct. The nuchal hump is result of dominance. Just like in other species of animal, things like horns, antlers or other overgrown appendages are a sign of superiority over other members of its species. Its a little different in fish as the hump is more a result of competition than just normal growing paterns. If your fish is around others of its species and it feels it is bigger and tougher than the other fish, it will grow the hump to show his dominance. If it is a single fish without the need for this display, it usually won't grow it as it would be wasted energy to do so (basically, nature's law of conservation). If you have him in a tank divided with another sajica, he may grow it to try to out display the other sajica, but since the other already has a nice hump, he may just concede that the other fish is the boss
