My roommate has two fish and one is larger than the other. The big one is aggressive towards the little one. She wants me to take him and put him in my tank with my 5 other fish. I just dont know if its a good idea, if he is sick and thats why he wont eat and the other fish is chasing him I dont want to add it to my tank. Any ideas? The only thing that makes me think he is sick is that he isnt really eating and he hides (but if I was being chased by a big fish I would to) Should I put him into my tank? Or could he be sick?

What kind of fish are they?

What kind of fish do you have?

What size are both the tanks?

Emma

edit: i just read your profile

- 10 Gal. Aquarium
- 1 Male Dwarf Gourami
- 4 Sunburt Platy's

Still need to know what your friend has though.

Can you describe the fish in question like size in inchs, general body shape, coloration and patterning etc?
Personally though i wouldn't add anymore fish to your tank depending on the type of fish.

well I am not sure what kind of fish she has. He is small in size, probably about and inch and he is orange and yellow (I do know what he is not a sunburst platy) but other than that I have no idea. My tank is 10 gallons but hers is small more like maybe 2 gallons (not sure though)

At this point I'd side with safety and avoid adding it if you don't know what it is.

A tank of 2gals is too smal for any tropical fish apart from a betta, are the 2 fish in question the same type of fish? What does the other fish look like?
