The filter and light that came with this tank broke after a few months, so it's been empty on my desk for ages. It was bugging me so I decided to give it a makeover. Before it had fake plants (apart from the anubias nana) and pea gravel, and looked pretty daggy. I changed the substrate to sand, put the nana on some lava rock and added milfoil, along with more fake plants. Also, I had to get a new filter and light. But I reckon it looks better now :)

Any suggestions for stocking? It's a 3 US gal, so I know I'm limited. I've already got bettas, so I was thinking maybe shrimp, or endlers, or is there some sort of killifish that could live in it? It's pretty wide for a 3 gal so theres decent swimming space.

Lovely setup! I think you could get away with a dwarf puffer if theres decent swimming room...but other members will debate saying that a 5 gal is the minimum for one. They are cool lil fish to keep :)
look at www. dwarf puffers.com (NB there is no space between them, but the forum wont let me type it as one word...
Or if you wanted to go fro endlers, theyd add a nice bit of colour in there :good:

Great looking set up. You can fit many species of killies in there. Just have a look around and see if there are any you like.

Love the setup! I have a 3 gallon thats housing a betta right now but its square has no lid and a light thats not as fancy as yours..wanna trade? :hey:

Thanks guys :)

I might look into the endlers, my LFS has them from time to time. And like I said, it's got a lot more lengthways swimming room than most 3's. I think DP's are illegal in Australia or maybe just impossible to find.

EDIT: dz - haha, I might consider a trade if we weren't so far away, I'm looking for a cube tank for one of my bettas actually!

What brands are all these neat looking modern tanks all you foreigners have (well, foreign to me!! ;)), and where can I find them in the U.S. They're awesome looking. Seems like there's only regular rectangular tanks, or cheap acrylic ones here.

Too bad you live in Quuensland and not Queens New York :hyper: !
