I couldn't believe they had this guy at Petco for $5.99. He's absolutely stunning! This guy will give me a good reason later on to upgrade my 55 gallon tank ;)

I picked up 2 Bamboo Shrimp too

This guy turned red pretty quick after he got into my tank:

My other one hasn't turned as red yet, but I hope he will soon.

The catfish is a Raphael Cat, they grow to about 8-10" usually. Covered in sharp spikes all down its dail and side :)

mine was really peacfull and happily lived in my community tank, itll take meat and veg food :)

Platydoras costatus are lovely indeed. Just ensure it has a nice cave to hide in / under and no small fish like neons it is like to eat. The are extremly shy and highly noctornal. I only ever saw mine twice - the first time in the bag when I bought it - and then 3 years later when I took it out of the tank to rehome it.

Wow he's gorgeous!!! Hmmmmmmmmm, would he be okay in my tank? I will have to read a little about that fish. :D

They are fine in most tanks with fish of equal size as tehy will take live food (god rest my neons soul)

Mine used to happily come and sit in my hand when i was repairing my plants and/or doing other maintenance. spikey little bugger used to snaffle cut up worms from my hand without a thought for anyone else in the tank :)

what are those lily things in the pic with the bamboo shrimp?

I have two pairs of them and already forgot the name.

The Ralphael Catfish is doing fine. He was out for the first couple days I got him, but he's found a hiding spot now so I don't see him as much now that's unless the Clown Loaches decide they want to play with him. I did buy some slate and made a cave for him so he'll have another couple spots. I'm sure my loaches will try to share the caves with him eventually.

you won;t have to upgrade a 55 g for this guy, but you will for the loaches :/

oooh i found these at a store, they couldnt tear me away! lol
unfortunatly my tank isnt anywhere near large enough to accomodate, wish it was!
