I was wondering if there are likely to be any problems. I haven't actually seen them fighting or anything, and they have been there around 2 months. They have a few bright blue spots within the large black one, and they also have nice pretty pinkish bellies.

My water is quite hard (living in London), and the pH is around 8 so I don't expect to be breeding even if I did have a male present.

By the way, the reason I have two females is cos the LFS (Maidenhead Aquatics in Morden) made a mistake and thought they were selling me a mixed couple!

Any opinions?

Thanks,

Irf.

Same thing happened to me - except they were gold rams. They were fine for months with one being the boss, then all of a sudden the "underfish" decided she was going to be boss. The previous top fish, who was now being chased, couldn't cope and I didn't intervene early enough. She died.

I'm sure a lot of fish die from "nose out of jointedness" :S

You just need to keep an eye on them and step in if they start a war. You'll definitely notice if it happens. There'll be a lot of chasing round the tank.
