so most of my tanks are in my basement, built into the walls... a secret is there is a 24 inch work space behind all the aquariums... the "nook" has a 45 gallon on each side wall, with a standard 30 gallon under each 45... the 30's are harder to work on, & used to be species tanks 20 years ago, & as of yet, are still empty... a pair of 55 gallon tanks make up the other wall, & paneled over from the viewable side is an acrylic 55 centered under & between the 2 visible 55's back when I kept fish before, I used to keep feeders in that tank... before it was placed there, is was my main salt water fish tank... anyway it's older, but a pretty nice rounded front corner acrylic tank...
I'm thinking of making it a tank just for me, that no one else sees... I have 4 monsteras coming that I'm rooting in baskets that fit into a pair of large, double wide, hang on tank filters... there is currently an under gravel filter plate, with no gravel... I'm thinking of just scattering leaves & Java moss & such on the bottom, I've been taking all my Java Fern babies floating around in my other tanks, & putting them into this tank & I'll likely be putting 3-4 varieties of silver dollars in the tank... but the captives will be chosen later... I currently have a couple Bichirs in my Tilapia set up outside... so they may move here 1st, when winter comes & the outside tanks get drained... I currently have an 8" common Pleco in the tank, I didn't have a better place for right now, & there are some Mosquito fish outside, taking care of mosquito larvae in the tank that has the plants in the Tilapia set up, & act as feeders for the Bichirs... I'll probably order another group of those to get the bacteria going good enough to be ready to take the Bichirs in a couple months
with Silver Dollars ( particularly the tiger striped ones ) live plants would get destroyed... so I'm thinking dead leaves Java Moss ? Ferns & drift wood as the primary decorations several potted ( hang on tank ) philodendrons & monsteras will fill the tank cavity above the tank where the lights are, shading the tank... maybe I can talk the fish into trimming the roots for me???
anyway I may mention the tank once in a while, but it's really for my enjoyment so I probably won't post any pictures or videos, at least until it matures
