I have four female and two male guppies in a ten gallon tank. All the females are very pregnent(I think) because I baught them three weeks ago in a tankfilled with male and females. Now all the females are huge. One of them is acting stange and not eating. She is also going into a crunch type position instead of swimming straight. Is she going into labor if, when, and how do I know when to but her into the separate tank????

Please help me

if they are going into an actual tank and not a breeding trap then all the females can go in now, just make sure it is well planted or with marbles etc... in there for the fry to hide when born,

Ok It is a separate tank and are the plants so the other females don't eat the fry that are not there own???

they'll most likely eat them regardless of who's is who's. it's best to just turn off the light when they're giving birth, then syphon the fry when they're completely done if you want to keep them.

yep thats the idea, or better still its easier to take the females out as they finish dropping the fry b/c they are so much easier to catch lol, but give them atleast 2 hours to rest after dropping though, feed the females a little extra to stop them from hunting the fry down
