Hi I've been lurking for a while, me have a coommunity tropical tank and all fish are happy healthy and weel we have been down to 3 neons for a while so decided yesterday to up it back to the 6 well one is not doing well looks like his swim bladder has gone he is currently in a breader net till my husband can get home and sort him but its not looking good. I do hate it when they die we lost the last one as she give birth and a few neons in the past but our tropicals do well.

did you cycle your tank?, neons are quite flimsy fish

are you getting them from the saem shop? could be a bad fish stock

The tank has been running for about a year, I'm wondering if he was hurt being netted in or out of the bag as all our others are heathy and it was one of the new ones, we lost the other neons months ago, one the night we bought him one jumped and we think one was damaged when my husband was cleaning the tank his spine developed a kink.

Isnt a kink in the spine a sign of a internal parasite?

neons aint strong fish so i crushed one of mine by accident

btw these are only guesses, just sounds like accidents to me

Just want to make sure with one of the neons having a bent spine, swim bladder as they can be symtoms of ntd.
Does the red stripe on the neons look bleached out or milky in appearance.
