I brought four fork tailed rainbows this morning. I went out for an hour or so. I get back and I see a congo tetra with one of them in its mouth, already dead. Then my kribensis spat one of them out, barely alive. I issolated that one and the only other left alive. both were being maulled. everything was having a go at them even my tiny white spot tetras. I've isolated them but They are pretty beaten up. I think they might die. What should I do!!!! take them back to my LFS? I don't think they'll take them back in their condition. I don't have any treatments and my parents are working so they can't take my to the LFS. HELP!!!!!!

For now keep them isolated, poor things, I would suggest you take them back as soon as you can, explain the situation to the LFS, you may not get your money back but I think its safest for the rainbows if you take them back.

Agree with the above, don't worry about medications for now. if they've got injuries from an attack there's no medication to fix it as it's not a disease, they just need clean water and no stress and they will heal in their own time. Of course it's possible that the injuries would be too severe for recovery but you can be safe in the knowledge that you've done all you can do for now, car or no car to get to the lfs!

I would also suggest you return them to the lfs however in this sort of condition moving them will be very stressful and could kill them in itself, do you have a spare small tank or anything like that so you could keep them in there until they're strong enough to go back to the shop?

I do but they are in one of those mesh boxes in the main tank. unless they get out whish the can't they'll be safe in there.

yes that's fine then, just make sure the water quality is kept good, do some extra water changes if needs be. Give them a day or two to recover and then return them to the lfs. It's always a little hard to diagnose the time needed for recovery over the internet but i'm sure you'll get a feel for when they are a little stronger.
