but will continue to do daily changes

tank was looking sooo clean this morning and the plecs have erm messed it up
(wondering if i should keep them now as they seam to be making most of the mess )

Lol yes plecs are poo machines lol.
Phone lfs to see if they would swap them for other fish.
Though you might have to get store credit till your water stats are good.
Forgot what its like now with children as mine have grown up.

What your tap nitrate reading.
What test kit do you use.
What are your other stats in ammonia, and nitrite.
Glad the nitrate reading fallen.
Keep up with water changes.

there still

ammonia 0.25
nitrite 0.25 - although this was starting to go up a little as i left lfs

they use liquid ones (still need to invest in some my self role on pay day  )

Not making sense to me.
Have you toucned any filter sponges.
Need to look at your tap nitrate reading.
Best to leave nitrate test for 30 minutes for an accurate reading.

Didn't rinse more than one sponge in old tank water did you?

i rinsed the poly pad?? at the top and one of the other sponge that was gunky (in old fish water ) but left the other 2

Ok that fine then wondered if you had destroyed to much benefical bacteria.
Can't understand why your ammonia and nitrite reading hasnt changed.
Are you over feeding.
When did you rinse one of the sponges.
Need to look at your tap nitrate reading to see if you can rinse one of your other sponges in old tank water.

i rinsed them with the water change last nite
not 100% if i over feeding

will try and get tap water tested tomorrow or get a test kit from somewhere lol

Sorry forgot you don't have a test kit.
