For the last couple weeks we've been battling a bacteria with my betta, but sadly we've lost. She's weak and struggling to stay afloat and gasping for air and it's breaking my heart to see her struggle so hard. It's time to euthanize her but I want to do it the most humane way. Does anyone have any suggestions for me please?

Thank you.

put the fish into a small container of water and put that in the freezer. Leave until frozen.
If you add some Clove Oil (available from the health food shop) to the container with the fish in, then that will knock the fish out and it can then be frozen in the container.

Probably wrapping it up then smashing its head with a hammer is the most humane way. It doesnt hurt because it will die instantly.

EDIT: Doing it colins way is much better if you have the clove oil. If not, im pretty sure it will suffer.
