I posted about him on here before and came to the conclusion that it was a Columnaris Infection. I had been treating him for 7 days. Did a water change then started treatment again after a day of waiting for the water to clear up. It has been 3 weeks since his first treatment. And I thought all was going well. However tonight I looked at him and spotted another patch growing on top of his head. AHHH!!! Was my surprise! With in two hours this had occured! Why is he not getting better?? I am treating him with Pimafix and Melafix as I was told to do in another post on here. Is there anything else I should treat with??

The red circle is the new infection.

The purple circle is the old.

Is this not columnaris ????

What is the water like (ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, pH, etc)? In bacterial infections, the water quality an make all the difference, if you could post your stats, that would really help. :good:

Everything was good before stat wise, but keep in mind now I have removed the carbon and also have started treating again. But I will get the test stats on here as soon as I can.

Okay so we did the testing and everything was a little high, but not completely off the charts.

Bad water stats won't be helping.
Forget about the meds there doing nothing.
Maracyn plus, or maracyn one and two.

Okay I have him in tank with great areation and have added Maracyn. However he is now looking like his "skin" is shedding! What is this? Could it be he's finally getting rid of all this disease and starting new??!???

What are the actual readings? You should have 0 for ammonia and nitrite. I suspect the reason he isn't getting better is because of the overcrowding issue. Fish with bacterial infections need *immaculate* water really, alongside the treatments Wilder said. :good:
