Hi everyone,

My sucker fish just sits there 24/7 and its really annoying me! i know they are nocturnal but it seems my fish never ever comes out!

he is around 5 inches big and sits at the back of my tank all day barely moving, does anyone elses do this?

is there a solution to this? perhaps another sucker fish cud be bought wud that liven the fella up?

even wen i put in his food he never seems to move for it!

help!

It's what they do. My plec is pretty lively but it can come down to environment and feeding.

What kind of plec is it and how big is your tank? Adding another is doubtful to make it do backflips on request.

I second that, how many gallons does the tank hold in which it is in and what, if anything, do you feed the plec? Do you know what type of plec it is? Plecs aern't by nature very active fish but if you give them the right habitat, diet and enough space you will see them being more active.

not sure what type of plec it is to be honest! yeh i feed it these tablet things wich are for plec's wich i got from my lfs. my tank is 36 by 15 by 12, bot sure how many gallons.

i wudnt mind if he was at the front of the tank but he just rests within the plants all day!

You might find that adding some "Moonlights and having them on For a couple of hours in the evening, might entice him to come out more. Also then feeding some nice things such as algae wafers (they all seem to love the "Hikari" brand), courgette & cucumber.
But as most plecs (what you call sucker fish) are nocturnal, it’s unlikely that you’re going to much of any of them during the day.

you might want to find out what kind you have. You could have a potential 18" common plec on your hands.

I agree with what was said about environment. My plec didn't come out for literally months when I got him. Only when the lights in the room had been off for 20 minutes of so. Now he's in a big tank with lots of wood and he is out all the time, day and night.
