My Platy Is Acting Strange

I have a Platy that is swimming a bit strangely. It looks like it is stationary in one spot for a while and wiggling rather than smoothly swimming like the rest of the fish. Sometimes, the platy will go berserk for a bit and dart around a small area and then return to it's one spot and continue to wiggle. Any ideas on what's going on? I just had another platy die and I'm not sure if there is some sort of infection going on in the tank but all the other fish seem great. I'm thinking maybe it's shimmy or swim bladder disease.. Any help would be appreciated.. thanks!

OMG this post just gave me a total deja vu.
I had a platy die, then it was the exact same thing happening with my female. IT is probably either birthing pain, or usually they begin doing this at night when they feel predators are coming from every corner. Did you by chance turn off the lights, and it was really dark, then come back in and turn on the lights?
