My Platy Had Her Fry

she was giving birth just as i got off the computer and she had 10 sadley 2 were eaten and the other 8 are doing fine

tonight i have to go out and get a breeding trap so she wont eat andmore fry


the are so tiny they are about the isze of a grass seed and don't show up on the pictures

but don't worry they will be bigger soon and than i can post some



they are already starting to look orange but i can still see through them a little bit

i though she still had at least 2 weeks left

Congratulations. Color changes will continue for a while before you can really tell what color the fry are going to end up. Good luck!

as i put a tank divder in i decided to count just in case i missed some

there are 15 fry and god they are so tiny and their eyes are so...big looking lol

can't wait till they are bigger

Ahh yes, the first two or three lots are wonderful, aren't they?. After eleven or twelve, the 'magic' wears off a little. The strange thing is, I had Platys for nearly eighteen months, and the females never appeared to be anything remotely resembling pregnant. My Guppies, however...............

i had guppies that were all pregnant and all of a sudden they just died

the fry just got a taste of frozen brine shripm and they love it

they're usually pregnant when you get them from a store so you can't be sure how long until they have their fry

Yup. Exact dates are hard to tell, but huge means soon.
