To my great suprise when doing my water change at the weekend i spotted a baby platy. Then another and another, 4 in total. I've had the tank for a year and a half now but never had any fry before. Took a note of there size and asked at my LFS about how old they are, they are about 8mm, LFS reccond about 2 weeks. I guess they must of hid in the plants so as not to be eaten. I have brought a breeding trap, but then i figured that they haven't been eaten yet so will probably be fine left in the tank. At what age/size should the fry normallally be released back into the main (community) tank? I have been feeding them crushed flake, they seem to like it. It this the correct thing to be feeding? Any other suggestions or advice would be great.
