my platy gave birth about a week ago. The day before she gave birth we cleaned out the tank, so thats good, but we have a plant we specifically bought for the babys, and i can find them. i didnt see her give birth but my sister saw 3 babys. then i went to the tank 3 days later and saw 1 baby that swam away when it saw me. are they all hiding and thats why i cant find them or are they all being eaten?

Unless the tank is heavily planted, they are more than likely being eaten.

if you've only got 1 plant in there go and get some cabomba ( i think thats how you spell it) it's great for fry to hide in
Though fry do hide on the gravel/substrate or behind heaters/filters so you might have some left

good luck
cheers sarah xxxx

sorry to say this but most likely they are eaten but what kind of substate do you have? Is it gravel or big pebbles. THe bigger the pebbles are the more likely the fry can hide under there and won't be eaten. Congratz though!
