ok i did have 2 plattys but 1 died about a week ago not sure which one tho as i had a male n female since then the other one did seem ok until this evening where it has went to the bottom of the tank and not really moved for about 2 hours do you think that this one is on its way out too?

Yes if it's resting on the bottom alot that is a sign of a dying fish, how many litres is the tank, plus full stock list of how many and which type, also can you post water stats in ammonia,nitrite,nitrate,and ph, any signs of the fish being bloated.

i did these tests 4 days ago and i bought a new filter and i know i have over stocked as i put on other threads cz i gt bad advice from lfs the platty dont look bloated and only comes away from bottom corner to feed

results from 4 days ago i since have done few water changes
ammonia=0.8
nitrite =1.5
nitrate =10 mg/l
ph =7.0

The water stats aren't very good, which may be why they are on the bottom and dying. They'll do that when the water quality isn't good. Do daily, or even twice daily water changes to get the ammonia and nitrite down to zero. :)

ok i will do a water change every day from now on thank you for the reply ...........................just one more question then ill leave you all at peace lol

my mollie looks fat and like its pregnant if she is how long would i keep her in a breeding trap before she had babies ?

If you kept her in a breeding trap, she might never have the babies. Breeding traps can really stress out big fish like Mollies, so she could abort, or even die from the stress. Breeder traps are really for smaller Livebearers. It would be the best for her if you just let her give birth in the tank. If you have some plants and decorations, some fry should live. :) If you want to keep and raise the fry, I'd recommend you get a breeder net, or keep them in your breeder trap, if it's big enough. :thumbs: Or if you really want to go all out, a little fry tank.
