On the underneath of some leaves on some of my plants i have this like brown furry stuff growing can anyone tell me what this is

What kind of plants? The first thing that came to mind was the underside of the leaves on a java fern... little brown dots appear and then little roots start growing.... can you take a pic?

What plant? Did you post a picture, it isn't showing up for me?

that looks like Java Fern sprouting a new plant. You'll see tiny leaves start to grow above that root. Looks weird. I have some sprouting on two of my plants. Those fuzzy roots tend to catch any small particles and look a bit uggly after a while.

When groan enough they'll detach themselves.

Looks the same to me.

Don't detach them like you have. Let them grow, detach themselves, and you will have a load more to either attach elsewhere, or sell on ebay.

Congrats on a healthy Java Fern

no way its actually healthy i dont use anything for it no food or co2

Me either (untill the other day when I started DIY CO2) :) Seems java fern just likes tropical water and a little bit of light to be happy :)

Java Fern is one of the 'easy' plants to keep, as long as it doesn't have too much light or a bit of shadow it will grow fine without CO2 or ferts.

If it is in direct high lighting then it will require some additional nutrients.
