Thanks for looking

hardscape? rocks? wood?

you need to consider what its going to look like when the egeria grows up. stems are best planted in small grops of 2-3 stems

Ill give you some tips, change distracting gravel to sand and add substrate, add a black background buy a wide variety of potted plants, some pieces of bogwood/drift wood , some slate rocks. I cant really call 10 tiny plants a planted aquarium

my thoughts are, its very empty. There needs to be some kind of focal point in there and a few more plants.

ps don't put an air pump in there.

agreed. you are going to stuggle for initial plant bio-mass in the early stages. You need something to be absorbing all the crap a new set up produces.

have you got any specs for the tank? more details you give = more we can help

Tank size and volume
Lighting
Substrate
Co2
Ferts
Current plants used and quantities

definately no need for an airpump. i would ignore that comment

have a look in the photo section find something you like and use that as inspiration to have a nice planted tank you have to have a eye for it if you havent got an eye for it copy someone elses tank .

You need more plants. :)

If you want, why not have me move this over to the journal section?

That being said, welcome to Planted and let me give you a few links to get your started.

Now, a thread that kind of touches on what some in this thread have been saying about your tank's layout. Don't worry about the Golden ratio stuff, just scroll down for some nice scapes. There are a few "easy" scapes in there that are simple to copy.
