so i brought my plants from plants alive.co.uk they turned up and they were in good condition, i was dissapointed with my riccia, as it was just squashed into a ball inside a small pot, not what i expected, after putting in my plants i came to the riccia, i had some slate which i thought i could weigh it down with, i put it into the water and bang little bits everywhere, little green bits that are still floating in my tank now.after a while i managed to weigh what now if like 50% of the tiny bunch down.it looks okay but cant see any obvious roots, does it have roots- i may ave planted it upside down lol. and what i want to ask is how would you go about adding riccia fluitins to your aquarium

i just hope the roots will take- aquarium pictures coming to a forum near you...........

that is how it comes, better that it is in a pot too as it stops it getting squashed.

riccia doesnt have roots, so if you have laid the slate on top of it, you are limiting light and it will die, take a look here on how to attach riccia: http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?showtopic=101806

you have to tie it down. Fishing line works well. And yeah, it doesn't have roots. Tip: let it float, it will multiply rapidly. Riccia is actually a floating plant. Just some people like to tie it down because it looks pretty like that.
