I have this plant in my tank its a sort of dark green with long thinner type of leaves, it has grown a shoot the past couple days that looked rather like a seed head slightly purple in colour at the top, its now shot up a couple of inches since last night and is out of the water, what should I do? Should I cut it off or see what it does because it kinda looks like it might just keep growing and its nearly touching the lid?! At least its a good sign if its growing!

Most of the plants in the hobby are actually semi-aquatic which is why this sometimes happens, the plant is probably propagating itself or flowering.

Leave it be, it sounds as if it is about to flower, enjoy it! post a pic if you can :good:

I shall try to. Must try and get it i.d'd as well. So it will be alright out of the water? Two of my plants just be seeming to flourish!!! Hope the flower part doesn't grow too much more
