My Planned Stocking

My planned stocking for my 55 gal tank is:
5 Boeseami rainbows
2 german blue rams
3-4 swordtails
6 rummy-nosed tetras
* some type of small algae eater

The tank has a rena xp3 canister filter for tanks up to 175gal, and it gets water changes every week.

My questions are :
What kind of algae or bottom feeder would you suggest? at the moment i don't have any, I had some cories but my blue ram always chased them away from the algae wafers.

Would I have any extra room for a few more rummy-nosed tetras?

A BN pleco might be good in that tank.

Do you use gravel or sand?. Important differences to a bottom feeder.

I have medium sized gravel.

have to agree with the suggestion of a BN pleco they are great litle fish and can be active once settled into there surroundigns

I second the bn plec, and I think you can add a few more to the rummy-noses, too. That'd make the tank very filled up!
