My own infusoria

I had no idea you could use filter sludge for teeny fry till I read about it somewhere on this forum. I only had tiny fry once (bumblebee gobies) and they all died, probably starved. . . anyway, I got out my old microscope and took a peek:

It's a great food source for fry IMO. I've only bred fish once but used this method and had great growth and healthy fry results.

It always amazes me what is growing in our aquariums that we never see . This is an idea I’ve never heard of but I will certainly not forget it . This is also a good way to obtain a start for a new infusoria culture . I like this .

What's kind of interesting is, I'm guessing different areas have different types of critters. I'm in Hawaii, probably a lot of variety as nothing will ever have to freeze.
