My Opaline Goruami Is Hiding

I don't know why but my opaline gourami is not himself lately. His has lost his sparkle, and his markings are not as striking as they used to be. They do come up during feeding time but over the past few days he is not feeding as well. Now he is hiding behind the filter most of the time, occasionally venture out to have a peep. I have had an outbreak of ick recently, but they all had only 1 spot at most. This has been treated with ick medicine at 1/2 dose (because of my loaches) and heater up to 28oC. I am now on my second course, after 5 days, with 50% water change and another 1/2 dose. None of the fishes have any evidence of ick, and everyone else is as active as ever. Heater down to 27oC then 26oC now. Water parameters are all normal.

Hopefully it is not on its way out. Even if it is I have no idea why that would be the case.
