I heard it was more like 6inches, and they're very, very slow growing.
Either way, I think this guy is going back, he's harassing my other fish too much. He's fantastic though, his camouflage and the way he tucks all his fins in to look leaf like is awesome!
Yes, leaf fish are amazing, at least up until you realize that they will only eat live food
Also, most leaf fish stay around 4" (So I've read), and a great alternative to a leaf fish (if you have room) is the Ctenopoma acutirostre, an african anabantoid that can reach 8"
yesterday I saw him move like a leaf falling through water to find a new spot to sit and wait. he'll still have to go back but it's a shame, he's a fantastic fish.
