Hi heres my 1st tank for a long while (bout 20 years!!!!) its a 10 gallon tank which i have just started cycling. couldnt wait till i had fish added before i posted a photo. Plese let me know what you all think of it. some ideas on hiding the large filter would be helpful. I still have to add a background i was think of using some dark blue or black card.

Hi there, looking good.. Welcome back to the hobby! :) I hide both my filter and heater with Amazon sword plants.. which it looks like you have in the tank already, maybe you should try moving it over in front of the filter, a black background would probably help the filter blend in a bit as well, although I find that bright blue colour background they sell at most LFS' quite a good choice so maybe blue would be a good too.. you should take some pics with different colours as backgrounds and have a look at them all together and that way you can decide without having to change the colour and remember what the last colour looked like (if that makes sense)

Maybe a bit neat for my liking, but that'll soon grow out :p scruff up the gravel a bit maybe? Other than that though, me thinks it looks goodies :)

It's looking great. I agree with keepsfalling about the black background. I am using a piece of black card cut-to-size behind my tank and it disguises the filter on my jewel system greatly.

thanks everyone i agree with black backgoround im going to borrow!!!!!! a few pieces of card from work and see what looks best

not sure yet looking at small fish with maybe a honey gourami. I like the look at panda or dwarf corys when the tanks a little more established trying to stay away from neon or glowlight tetras. i want something a little different
