You seem to have very coarse gravel in there, the Hoplo catfish won't like it at all! They need finer stuff to rummage about in.

Also its not really the best idea to start of with catfish if it is a brand-new tank, just remember not to add anything too quickly as you don't want to kill your hoplos off.

I would look into mixing some sand or finer quartz gravel in with your large gravel.

I do intend to put finer gravel in, 60litres of the water was out of my 2ft tank so was already cycled.

The water really doesn't carry very much of the bacteria in it. You should consider transfering some filter media or a stocking of gravel into your new tank.

I'm afraid the water from a mature tank alone does not cycle a new tank.
You will have to add some actual filter media (sponges etc.) - and even then it's not instantly cycled. The colony of bacteria still have to build up.

I've made the mistake of assuming a tank was cycled when it surely wasn't and I ended up losing 5-6 fish.. I added water, and did the filter media thing... still didnt cycle the tank.. no point in risking your fishies lives for the sake of 2-3 weeks.
