Well went to pick up my new tank today, with my mate from work (AKA Scales) I took a qiuck look at it apart from a small chip with i wasn't to bothered about (I could cover that up). So i paid for it as well as a new heater and a Blue Ram. I'm pushing the tank in a trolly with the hood on going very carefully, and Scales is following me pushing a troly with the cabinet in it.

Just got out of the main doors, but not off the premises when Scales says "Dave this cabinet is damaged"

My reply " What, Where, I never saw that "

So we ended up taking the cabinet back and pointed out the defected cabinet which looked like it had been dropped and smashed a small piece off the unit at the front.

So all in all i've not had a good day all i got at home is a tank and hood nothing for it to sit on.

*Strontiumdog waits by the phone for them to ring me up :-( but

PS Thanks for your help Scales.

Sorry too hear it, SD. :/

How big was the chip? :dunno:

I think I would have told them to replace the tank as well.

The chip was on the front bottom left hand side about 0.5cm maybe less but thats not the point. I missed and payed for it, instead of seeing it before paying for it. I was only because Scales was with me, that it got noticed.

an apart from everything else i can start cycling it :-(

Could you set the tank up on the ground and cycle it? Then, when the stand comes, you could empty the water out of the tank (since it doesn't contain much beneficial bacteria), and set it back up again without removing the filter & substrate.

Sorry to hear about what happened- I know how ya feel :/

Well i went around to the shop today and asked what was happening to the cabinet? He told me he had rang the makers up and they said they would collect it, but he told them he wasnt going to wait for them to collect it, and took it himself.

Now its just a case of waiting for them to replace it

Cutechic: I put my new filter in my old tank. So im running 2 at the moment, hopefully when the new stuff is ready i'll do the same in the new tank with the filters plus add old gravel and plants.

well i got a phone call today and its ready to collect so thats exactly what i did when i finnished work today.

Now i'm scratching my head trying to figure the best way around moving new in for old.

Must dash got some gravel to clean ( god i hate that part of fish keeping, cold wrinkled hands )
