I have just got a brand new AquaOne tank, it's 240L capacity but odd dimensions, 100cm long, 42cm deep and 64cm high.

Basically I'm looking for ideas for stocking. I'd like to have several angels, corydoras and at least one pleco. There are so many to choose from though that I don't know where to start. That wouldn't exactly fill my tank either, so would probably be looking at some barbs or tetras maybe?

It isn't going to be planted with real plants, I have some bogwood already and the gravel is small/medium. Anything else that I need to consider?

Thanks for any ideas!

If the angelfish get bigger they might start nipping/eating smaller fish (neons, tetras).
Also, make sure that the tank is high enough for them, general rule of thumb that the tank height is at least double their length. They grow also,
but 62cm is good for a full grown (30CM) angelfish. :)

Also, some angels like to hide but not all of them. They need a calm enviroment, so if you have a kid who likes to hit on the glass it wont be good for them, make sure to keep the tank stress free! :)

When cleaning, leave them in the tank. They'll be more calm this way, and keep the gravel vacuum and the net away from them if not needed! :)

Good luck! ;)

Thanks for the advice. I should have probably added, I have had angels before but I had a powercut when away for a weekend which resulted in pretty much a completely dead tank within a week :( It was my first attempt at keeping fish so want to make a better go at it this time!

I've only just started cycling the tank so I've while to come up with ideas. Just don't want the tank to end up looking bare in the middle, my last angels almost always liked to be at the top of the tank.
