So here he is, my first cat. I've been so pumped for his arrival and then this morning i got the happy delivery. This is Marc who's 13 yrs old(still has all his teeth) and like most men is VERY cuddily and lazy. :p
His story is a sad one. Beaten and left for dead in the winter of 2003, his head had to be stitched back together and he lost part of ear due to frost bite. He was in a shelter for a year until my friend adopted him out. She now is moving and says she wouldn't trust anyone else with him but me or her parents. I wasn't able to take him atm so he was adopted out to her parents. They gave him back and their reason was" because he's too affectionate" which i thought now adays was a good thing to have ina pet. Anyways, to rehome a cat is tough not to mention an elderly one missing part of his ear(which i think gives him character). Most people would have him put down. He has so much will to live and retrust people again after his past. I had to give him a second chance.
So now I'm here to give him the best and most spoiled remaining years of his life. I would say I'm his final retirement home.

This picture really shows off his "M" marked forhead. It's super Marc! :flex:

As you can see he's a REAL hard worker. Glad to have you on board Marc!

What a great ending to such a sad story. He looks quite happy to be in your home.

He almost looks like a kitten in the pic of him sleeping on the chair
POTM for that picture :kewlpics:

You're a special person for taking on an old cat instead of a kitten. Well done.
Marc is lovely.

He still looks youthful to me, it must be his new lease on life. I always applaud people who take in adults instead of babies

aww, he is so sweet looking! Kinda looks like my Peaches, though she is quite fat.

He looks small, how big would ya say he is?

Aww what sweet ending to a story  I had tears in my eyes while reading it. Your a wonderful person for taking in Marc at 13 years old :*) I think he looks beautiful. He reminds me so much of my little kitty Moby.

Good luck in the POTM contest

BTW - who gives a cat back for being too affectionate? :(

ahhh what a handsome fella he is ! and just look at those soulful eyes - gorgeous !

Thanks everyone, your comments mean alot to me. I sure didn't expect so many replies. I've never been a person to judge by appearance and I'm realistic in knowing whenever I get the urge to adopt/buy that cute kitten/puppy i know it will maybe be there for maybe 2 weeks max before someone quickly adopts it. As for the adults, it could be months(maybe yrs) before they get adopted. Also a kitten will eventually turn into an adult cat, so save yourself the potty training and bad behaviour session and start right from the already trained, well behaved adult cat. ;)

He is a little on the light side(our family cat got skinnier as he aged too) but he went into the vet yesterday and was given a clean bill of health.

Marc is settling in quite well considering he was just delivered this morning and it was an 8 hr drive. So here's Me and my new(but old :*) ) man:
