Hello All

I have my tank 90 litres, rectangulae shape 80cm lengh. 16inches high.

Ive filled it with flora based under substrate with nutrients added. recommended by my local aquascaper if thats the term. Topped with black small gravel. Ive washed all gravel and added to tank also filled up half. Im keeping danios in another tank atm.

I want to add some java moss attached to bogwood is this suitable for hard water fishes. I also like red java fern, amazon sword, red lotus.

When do i add my plants now its half filled up or after its filter, heater are all up and running. Im using my old filter from another tank thats already cycled and ill be transfering the danios at same time.

Do i use tap water conditiner before adding plants. do i add plants or fishes first. how long wait inbetween

Thansk

Fill up and turn on the filter, heater and everything. Dose tapsafe to protect the bacteria.
It's your choice what you do after that. You can leave it how it is and make sure it's fully cycled. Then add plants and fish, doesnt matter who's first.
Or, you can opt for silent cycling straight away. If this seems to trickey, then just make sure the new tank is cycled then go ahead with plants and fish. Whether you need to add macro nutrients and/or CO2 is dependent on how much light you have.

I have just purchased these plants. Im using 1 full spectrum 2ft light, at the front and 1 super glo light at the back. Is this right. SHould i purchase some more? what would go well and be fast growing. I'm not planning on using co2 to start with but probably will invest in some sort of system or injection pump.

So ive got coming plus large piece bog wood to attach the flame moss to.

Dont add more light if you aren't prepared to add CO2. You'll just get algae.
Plants arent actually that fussy when it comes to light. Pretty much any aqaurium bulb for sale is fine for growing plants. No flourescent bulb will grow plants faster than another bulb.

Ive just installed my heater and filter what is the best temp for the plants its currently set between 65 and 71. I

That's quite a big gap :S
It doesn't really matter for plants, but because this is a tropical tank, typically you'll want it around 78.

My tank is now up and running temp of 22 the heater is off as the house temp is keeping it at this. My plants will not be on there way for couple of weeks as im going on holiday.

Whats is the best way to plant the different types. Loose, rooted and potted. Is the sword plant a middleground of background plant.
I have brought some carpet moss on a wire pad, will this spread by itself along the gravel or will i need some sort of mesh for it.

My bog wood is presoaked, can i put this in a tub in the bath with very hot water to soak and how long for.

I'm using a columbo plant substrate then gravel ontop. Im planning on keeping algae eaters so which algae should be encouraged for them to eat.
