My New Pink Betta

I caved in and picked up a pink betta from my petsmart. I'll be getting a 5-8 gallon tank for it sometime this month, but til then I'm gonna keep it in the 10 gallon with the other male betta so they can duke it out and the winner takes all

He's in the 10 gallon now, and the other betta is in a large vase. Just so I can get the newcomer to stabilize and stuff after being kept in a cup

What variation of betta is he? Labeled as half moon, but short finned and such. I know you crazy kids have silly names for the bettas like mustard gas and super red and delta tail and plakat and such.

All I know is that it's a pink betta. And I thought it was pretty cool.

I've also noticed it has a light blue sheen to it when the light hits it right while it's turning. That's what really made me cave in. Blue and pink look great together IMO.

My betta names are only of the utmost sophistication. No other species but bettas deserve such names.

I wonder if any of the ultra-betta-nerds will be able to tell you what type he is hehe, you know who you are!!
He may just be young and not have his fins totally grown in yet but i think he may be a plakat or a halfmoon plakat but i'd need to see him flare. Where are those nerds when you need em?

How big are they when their fins are full grown? This guy's not much bigger than the glow light tetras or apistos, and those guys are just scratching the 1 inch mark

tank shot just so you guys might be able to get feel for how small he is

and here's him doing what I think is trying to flare, though he awkwardly loses his balance in doing so, as you might be able to tell.

He's nice and healthy as far as I can see, though gorgeous little guy.

P.S. I know my 10 gallon is a hideous little thing. All the plants came from my 75 when my severum started ripping them up. I'm gonna decorate it better later, add some driftwood rather than the ugly pot, and get some plants that aren't rotting away, and some java moss cause I like java moss.
