My new tank I love it.

Been up running for about 6 weeks I have

4 Zebra Danios
6 Green Tiger Barbs
1 RTB shark

Any suggestions welcome for other options as I'm not to sure what to add next. Only been at this hobby a couple of months but wanted a tank for years. At last we have some space

Are the live plants much better for the tanks? any any types easy for beginners.

Thanks all. View attachment 33962View attachment 33961

Looks nice. Were these fish in the bio orb? Could you post some pics of the fish because the tank is so big I can't see them? I'd get 2-3 more danios.

No They are different fish. The only fish in the Biorb is 4 x Neon Tetras 1 x Female swordtail and a Red Dwarf Gourami. The tank is just not big enough plus the Media you have to use is so chunky that the fish canno't even scour the bottom. It was an Impulse buy once I found this forum found out I could not keep the fish I wanted.

What a marvelous upgrade ! Well done :kewlpics:

Live plants do perform various positive effects on the water. As they grow they utilise various nasties ranging from ammonium and other nitrogen compounds (nitrite, nitrate) to heavy metals.

Without upgrading your supplied Juwel lighting you will be limited to lower light species but may well have success with the following -

These first three do best attached to decor (wood, rock etc.) -
Java fern - Microsorium pteropus
Java moss - Vesicularia dubyana
Anubias species

Crypts - Cryptocoryne species
Amazon Swords - Echinodorus species
Hygrophila polysperma
Small Ambulia - Limnophila sessiflora
Elodea - Egeria densa
Some Ludwigia species
