Hiya, I got some new fishies today. I was os exited!!
I got 2 baby loaches, a baby Plec and a baby Gibbiceps. (Iv never herd of them befor so please dont ask me anything about it!)
They are so lovely, and look great in my tank.
Also when i got home after buying them, the heater in my 10 gallon tank had broken, luckily i cleaned it all out of the tank and borrowed a friends heater until i can get a new one. Now why didnt it break befor i went to get my fish!!!
If there is anything i should have done about my heater after finding it broke then please let me know.
He he he he, my new fishies!! :kana:

sounds great, you should research the fish u dont know about before you buy them next time thogh, im sure they'll b ok thogh, did the lfs guy tell u anything about them? by the way arnt Gibbiceps a species of pleco?

Sorry to rain on your parade....

That Gibbeceps plecs grows fast and can get upto two feet long.

Which loaches? are they Clown loaches? (12 inches at adult size)

Which plec? is it a Common plec? (18 inches at full size)

That's 64 inches of fish in a 10 gallon tank.

Um.
Perhaps you'd like to reconsider?

I have done my homework on the Plec, and know what it can go with and how big they grow, and have loaches already. I got the baby loaches to help keep my tank clean. (which is a 16 gallon , not a 10 gallon). I have both sized tanks, but the fish have gone into the 16G.
The lady who served me told me that the fish will grow big and when they do, i can take them back for them to sell to someone with bigger tanks. They will also let me have another fish to replace it. So I havent just jumped the boat with it. I have done alot of research.
I am also saving for a bigger tank so i can keep the bigger fish, so when they do get bigger i wont have to rehome them or take them back. Any suggestions on sizes??
As for the Gibbiceps, like i said they take them back when they get to big for your tank. Thats if i dont have mine by then. I think it is a type of Plec, but she gave me most of the important info that i need to keep them. But i will look deeper into the species.
