hi guys, today i bought some new fish, hence the title
Well most of you will know that i had one male and one female, well today i added another female, seen as the racio is 2 females per male, she is a leopard platy.
I also bought 3 guppies, 2 females and 1 male.
However the one female has a small gravid spot, nearly every guppy in the tank did, P.S. they were all females.
But she has been just sort of staying at the top in my tank, is this because she is new, or is she like that because she is pregnant, thanks guys. ;)
Also i am going back in 5 days to get 6 neons and then my tank will be fully stocked. :hyper:

EDIT: Actually just checked and she is swimming and is happy now lol.

You should always quarantine fish for a week to be safe, as you never know what fish could be carrying in from the fish store. Even then, each time a fish changes tanks, I would give a couple days to make sure a fish is adjusted.

Congrats on your new fish. I haven't got another tank for quarantine, fortunately I haven't had any sick fish.

That's a true fact, you should to be safe put new fish in a quarantine tank before adding them to make sure they don't have any diseases.
It maybe nothing though!
Good luck with your new fish
:)

Thanks for the replys everyone, today they are all swimming together as happy as larry.
P.S. Do you think that there will be any babies?
I will keep you posted if the gravid spot gets any bigger. :good:

well, you have a male in the tank and she has a gravid spot so i would assume she is pregnant. it would be nice to have some pics too :)

Ok i will try to get some pics as the gravid spot gets bigger and through the stages of pregnancy.
P.S. Be warned my camera is crap.

I just though that i would add that i have now got 6 neon tetras. :hyper:
So my 14 gallon tank is now fully stocked, at 3 platys, 3 guppies and 6 neon tetras.
Well i hope that they get on well together, which they seem to be doing, and lets hope for some babies in the future, particularly the guppys and the neon tetras.
