My New Catfish

:/ seems a bit stressed haha. pretty fish.. how big will he get.

If he's a predator I'd love to see a video at feeding time. You should add plants - at least java fern, which is easy to take care of and is tough.

What's a predator? And yes, I was thinking of adding some lily pads or duck weed. Any other suggestions?

I think a predator is a fish which would eat meaty foods like prawn and stuff

to answer why these people think it's stressed look at the furniture bit on this page

also, that is a LOVELY fish

thanks

I did take a look at the link and this is what it said under furniture:
Furniture A light shy catfish which will only be venture forth during the day in dimly lit tanks. Caves (or lots of plants for smaller individuals) are required.

It says that it will ventur forth in dimly lit tanks during the day. This video was taken in very early morning and my tank is dimly lit. It only has 2 17 watt lights. And I said in another post that I will try to gte lilly pads and I'll try to do that soon to cover the light. As you can see in the video my tank has a lot of caves. I still don't see why my fish looks stressed out. THank you all for the comments. :D

Also is there anything I can do to make it so that my fish is not stressed out?

oh, he IS gorgeous! but i'd be very careful what fish you put in the 150g with him; a catfish like that will eat anything he can wrap his mouth around--and that's a great big mouth on him!

Thank you and yes, I know how I got him was actually not from a petstore some neighboor hood kids threw him in my friends koi pond and he was eating and killing koi twice the size of him so I had to put him in my tank. Then of course I had to get him some friends. That's why ther all in the 55 gallon. If it weren't for him I woulod have waited until I got the 150 gallon.

Aww, you rescued him!

That's awsome!

How big is he right now?

He is beautiful!

I would love to see more pics when you get your plants in!

Right now he is about 6-8 inches. I will get some pics up when I put the plants in the only thing is I was going to buy lilly pads at home depot and they don't sell them again until spring.
