Hey guys! I just got 5 new male bettas. I ordered them off of Aquabid. Anyways, I got a 10g tank and they're all living happily in there. I think their fins are falling off, but they are doing great! The only weird thing is that there is a cotton growth on 2 of them. Whats going on??

Are you a troll? God I hope you're a troll, but I'll pretend you're serious just incase.

You didn't mention dividers, so I assume you have none. If this is the case, their fins aren't falling off, they are eating one-another's fins off. They aren't called fighting fish for nuthin'. They are not "doing great" if their fins are disappearing and they have "cotton growths". They are fighting one-another and need to be separated immediately before they kill one-another. Believe me, it can and will happen.

If you do have dividers, then you need to check their integrity and make sure the fish can't reach one-another through them. If they can't, you need to do more frequent water changes, as missing fins can be caused by a bacterial infection called finrot, which is often caused by poor water conditions. The cotton growth is also probably caused by a bacterial infection, though it could also be true fungus. This site should help you diagnose the problem and suggest the appropriate medications you can use to treat it.

Thats kinda what I thought.
I think he means, they all live together, all in one 10G.
And even if it was a safe and smart thing to do, you'd be over stocked.
