Hey everyone!

Just thought I would post a pic of my new addition.

I haven't had a betta in a while and would appreciate some 'need to know' facts on them. I am also google searching info and remember a bit from when I use to own one :)

Very pretty! Does he have a name? I am also one of those people who are new to betta keeping but had them years ago! Welcome to the forum. People are really friendly here and Im sure someone will be along shortly to give you more advice!

Thanks Mariah!

I think he looks better in real life...he looks like pinky/purply type colours. :)

I don't have a name yet...can you tell if they are male or female?

My old betta was named Hunter

I would say hes a boy. The females tend to be smaller. I would also say hes a crowntail (CT). Very pretty! What size tank do you have him in?

He's only in a small desk tank at the moment

I'm waiting for my bigger tank to arrive.

I had a feeling that it was a boy because of his colours and that, but I thought he would look so good in my new pink/fairy tank
It sounds silly, but I will post pics of it and my betta in there when I get it :D

I was going to keep the pink tank coldwater, but now I will have to make it heated!

I just had to have him! I would have been thinking about him all night if I didn't get him today.

Now, what can I name him?

hes a lovely ct, now I dont have much luck with cts. They need softer water I have been told

Thanks liz2

What do you mean softer water?

At the moment he is just in a small desk tank with no heater or anything. He is sitting above me 3ft tropical tank so I'm hoping some of the heat goes through to him. Plus we have our ducted heating on today (it's so cold!)

Will he be ok like that until next week when I get my bigger tank and heater?

Anyone thought of a name yet?

I can't think of any!

Crowntail male, and a nice one too - double ray with some marbing on the body.
Dunno about the name though.. hard one!
I keep all my fish in the same water, no problems with CT's.

I'm such a goofball!!

I can keep him in one of my breeding containers until I get my tank? I have one of the plastic floating ones.

Atleast then he will be in the warm and won't hurt anyone.

Will it be too stressful for him if I changed him over? Like because of the different water and that?

Oh, and thanks Laura :D

His name is....

Moey :D

It's the name of this really cute puppy on this television series called Underbelly in Aussie :D
