hi guys
i was given an angel fish yesterday and im sure that the fish isn't complaining he's with me as he was in a tank with a huge knife fish that had allready eaten 3 others, he was really pale but now his colour has come back and he has settled in with my 2 others.
i was also wondering if there is chance that the newcomer will breed with one that i allready have if they are different sex that is ?

i dont know the answer to your question, just wanted to say well done for giving him a better home :)

congrats on giving him a nice home

there's always a chance that they will breed, impossible to sex until they spawn though so you just have to wait and see

btw angels have to live in pairs, so i suggest you get another one to make the total no. to 4. that'd increase your chances of breeding too.

I've kept pairs with unpaired adults in larger tanks with few problems. I also have adults that live together & refuse to pair, they must like the single life.

pairing off just happens, its impossible to predict which is why most breeders begin with either a proven pair or 5 or 6 young. If you put 4 or 5 angels into the same tank, there is every chance that conditions being right, you will have a pair. They can't help themselves and are an easy fish to breed. Be prepared for the pairing/spawning tank wars though!

1234-fishy-freind, would you mind posting a pic of the new angel?

I just like people's angel pics - not many friends of mine keep angels, they're not a normal fish at lfs i go to -that is why I asked.

angels dont have to live in pairs, in the wild they dont school or stay together so 1 single angel 0r 3 (like me) will be fine. My 3 have actually made a 3 way trio. They breed as a 3. But they dont need to live together.
