my tank seems to be cycled so i went out to buy 2 raphael catfish , almost bought a megladora which is a bigger version of a rapheal, but came home with a very beautiful 4.5 inch golden nugget pleco L081 / L018? i think its a female by comparing pics on the net. the pic below is not of mine but i will upload one just as soon as she comes out of her cave, which was one of my clown plecos cave but she kinda took it.lol

6-8 inches but i have just been on a website and they think 30cm / 12 inches! so not too sure now. i know the larger spotted nuggets grow larger so maybe they got confused?lol

i always look at the adult size, not juvi size so i think 48 x 12 x 18 / 40 usg is minimum to be honest.

Roughly 3x what i actually have the space for then lol. One day tho. When i get a place of my own i'll definately be getting a bigger tank

A full size GN is a big hefty fish. Depending which type anything from 8-14" long and that is not counting tail. I wouldn't keep one in anything less than 4ftx18x18 and preferably 4x2x2 or larger. They are relatively slow growers though and generally seen for sale at under 4".

How big is yours pleco-mad? You will not be able to tell sex until fairly large.

that is an L081, both L018 and L177 golden nugget plecs have fewer and larger spots, L081, as yours, has more smallr spots, nice fish, just lost mine, literally!

she's about 4.5 should grow to about 8 max,its the tiny spotted one.

and sexing was pretty hard, i looked at pic s on the net and notice that the male has a slightly different head and the eyes are different in position, he almost looks angry all the time?lol females are more plump in the belly too?
