The canopy is not quite done yet but we got the lights on it for the fishies...landscape still in the works. I need to take out most of the seashells due to the slightly high ph level and definately needs more plants...got em, just haven't put em in yet. Tomorrow!

OMG is that ever a cool tank!!!
ANd I love that painting behind it!

You gotta get some fast and zooming fish to go in there though, like some danios or rainbows!
*Earthgirl cannot believe that she just recommended that* :*)

looks superb fishykisses!!

You must have some big filtration to circulate the water around a tank that long!!

How long have you had your setup going without problems?

You are using sea shells and sea rock in a freshwater tank. VERY bad idea, it contains far too much lime to be safe in most tropical setups (besides rift-lake cichlids). If you dont have any problems with the lime then you will experience problems with phosphates getting trapped in the very pourous carbon that makes up shells and ocean rocks... some day this will all start to be released and kill your fish...

Just my 2p..

wow. I am soooo jealous. I want a bigger tank!!!

I think it would look fantasic with a black background, LOADS of plants, with a huge shoal of cardinals  that's my dream tank :)

You would need some serious wattage and CO2 for that too. How long is the tank??

Thanks for the info Ben!
It's only been running about a month and it origionally had cichlids in it...no more.
I'll get on that today! I have lost a couple fish. Really..Thanks!

It's 7ft long and i have a fluval 404 filtering it.

What i have in there now are:

4 - gold marble angelfish
2 - purple passion danios
many dwarf neon rainbows
I HAD 10 neon tetra...still hoping i can keep them but they're snack food for the danios :(
8 balloon mollies
2 clown loaches
a peppered catfish i think it's called
an upsidedown catfish
1 turquois rainbow
3 boesmani rainbows
5 congo tetras
and 9 rummynose tetras
and i think that's it...for now

2 - purple passion danios
WTF are they?
I've never heard of them :S
can you get some pics of them?
oh and all danios need to be in groups
of at least 5, as you have plenty of space
there that shouldn't be a problem.
and with danios you can mix and match,
so the 2 you have can be grouped with Zebras,
Leopards, Pearls etc.

the Purple passion danio's are very beautiful - they're irridescent purple and orange. I'd love to take a picture, i've tried many many times, but they are soooo fast. If i ever do manage or if i get some more then i will make a separate post for it.
They are quite aggressive though - especially the female. I'm not sure if she's gravid or just fat from feasting on my neon tetras. That's why i haven't gotten more, they ate my guppies too.

Purple Passion is a silly name for what is more commonly known as Pearl danios as far as i know...

Looks much better! Do a couple of water changes to get rid of any left over lime / phosphates in the water. Get a few small bits of bogwood and the tank will look very nice.

Woah! It that ever.....long! I myself would perfer a long and tall tank, rather than just long.
