hi all, new to this forum and was looking for a little advice!

so i currently have a 20L tank with 2 platies in. no, i dont have a heater in it, and i know people wont like this, but ive had them for 6 months with no problems, i have a thermometer in there and it is at 25.c ish all the time.

for my birthday i am getting this tank: http://www.seapets.co.uk/products/aquarium-supplies/aquariums/fluval/elite-and-marina-fun-aquariums/marina-style-glass-aquarium-tropical-set-60-litre.html

i am getting the 60L.

i was just looking for some info on what i need to get, driftwood for example, and the best place to get it, there is a pets at home in the area but they feel the need to question me on everything, so will go a bit futher out to a aquatics shop.

i am going to leave the tank to cycle for a good 3-4 weeks before moving my platies and plan to build the tank up slowly.

fish wise, what am i looking at? i would like to attempt to breed, and im planning on keeping my 20L tank as a back up.

i have been looking online for some gravel, but cant seem to find any bright colours that arent tiny stones! anyone know where i could get some online at a decent price?

thank you in advance for any advice and sorry for the endless questions!

cycling has no time limit, you have to let the tank FULLY cycle before adding fish, its alot more hard work (and some heart break with fish dying) with a fish in cycle, read and research cycling your tank.... :good:

so to cycle my tank the ammonia and nitrite need to be at 0 right?
