i dont know for sure what it is but now i have two neons with a weird bubble or overgrown skin on the lips. is this common since now i have two with this?is it somethin with the water? thanks

That SOUNDS like mouth fungus... flexibacter BUT I don't want to jump to conclusions...... do u know you're water stats, pH, amonaia, nitrite, nitrate, temp etc?? any changes to the tank??

well i will test it all again but at my last check of ph and kh two days ago it was ph of 6.8 and kh of 9. i will get the rest now

ok i have a
ph=7.0
ammo=0
nitrite=0
nitrate=0
my nitrates r usually at 5ppm but seem to have gone to zero. i think i should have some nitrate in my planted tank right?.but other than that could it be from the co2 im injecting.does over 30ppm do this to fish?i took a reading that looked like 40ppm a little higher than 30 im tryin to target.temp is 81degrees.

are they eating? any other changes in behaviour? have you added anything in the tank recently?
EDIT: photos may help!?

yah there still tryin to eat what they can get with that thing on them,anyway i think i have it pegged to cottonmouth and just got back from the lfs with some tc capsules.any experience with this for cottonmouth?thanks.

So happy I found this discussion. Even if it's really old. Anyway, my neon's have the same problem. Will bettafix cure them or will I have to get another medicine?
