My Moms Only Friend (Her Betta) Is Dying!

before i leave to california i want to help my mom with her betta...she has no clue what to do with it!!i bought bettafix at petco ant its been 7 days and he almost looks the same..i can see fin rot and what makes me so sad is that i can tell he wants to get better and he looks at me like asking for HELP! besides bettafix i dont know what else to give him and the guy at petco was kinda cold and said to us if this doesnt work u can kiss him goodbye like ouch he did he get a job there any advice fish owners?? thanx in advance

What size tank is he in ?

I'd recommend lots of water changes with fresh declorinated water and try some finrot treatment that only treats finrot
