Hi All,

I have 3 adult yellow female mollies two male mollies and two juvies!. Since friday one of my females is sitting on the bottom of the tank, not feeding or moving much. When she does try to move she looks as if she is to heavy for herself to move. I wouldn't say she is overly fat but she has a roundness about her. Having never owned fish I'm not sure what is wrong with her. I have now moved her to a net and she is sitting on the bottom of that.

Thats for the help in advance

Becky

how long has she been acting like this?
how long have you had her?
what are your water stats?

sorry about all the questions but they will help others help you :good:

Hi

She has been like this since Friday, and soent most of Friday, Saturday and Sunday on the bottom, seemingly struggling to swim.

I have had her for about 2 months. ( the others are all fine)

My water is spot on perfect.

Thanks

Feed peas to be sure it's not constipation. Microwave frozen peas, cool them down, remove the skins, smoosh them up a bit, and feed. Sit back and watch them poo like crazy.

No she has not been scratching and rubbing. she only looks big arond the abdomen.

it seems you beat me to it, was just about to suggest peas, hope it is just constipation and nothing serious :good:

I put the peas in like you said and she has completely turned her nose up!!! she wont toach them and I mashed them, at a complete loss now.

hi, i maybe totally wrong with what im about to say and i hope i am, but one of my orange mollies did the same a few weeks back and unfortunatly she died turns out it was swim bladder, u could try proper swim bladder treatment as soon as, and if its not that at least you tried, and i really hope she gets better soon, and maybe add a touch of tropical salt to (if you havent already) thats like medicine for them, hope this helps in some way
