Hi tropical gal,
When you say you've had the tank for just over two weeks, did you get the tank, add water and then add fish straight away? If so, the deaths are probably due to poor water quality. Have you read anything about cycling a tank? If not read
here and
here.
Cycling a tank is vital to keep fish healthy and, well, alive. You need to get test kits for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate (also pH). If ammonia or nitrite are over 0.25 you should do a water change.
If you didn't do a cycle before adding fish you will probably have high levels of ammonia followed by high levels of nitrite, both of which are poisonous to fish. You will be probably doing an awful lot of water changes for a month or two to save your remaining fish. Another option would be to return the fish the shop and carry out a fishless cycle, before getting fish again.
oh, and if you have access to any mature tanks (which have been running healthy for a long time) get some filter media from the tank and place it in your filter. This will speed up the cycle a lot.
What size is your tank and what fish do you have (species and numbers)?
