Okay so i did notice yesterday that my mollie was resting in the vertical position.
She would swim normally, but when she stopped her back end would dip down.
I was concerned about her being either pregnant or being not that well.
I tried searching online, but didnt see much of anyting about it.
I noticed this afternoon that none of the fish were swimming around...
I got really worried.
I went over and started looking in the plants when I noticed something white bobbing around at the top of the tank.
I pulled out some water then I fished her out and put her in some water, just to make sure she had passed.
I checked her over pretty good, no fin rot, no iche, nothing growing on her that shouldnt have been.
Is there anything I should be looking out for to make sure nothing is runing through the tank?
Water levels are consistant to what we have had and no nitrite/ammonia reading.
So I should wait 48 hours before replacing?
I was thinking of taking out a quarter tank water change tomorrow, just to refresh the tank a little.
Why were the fish huddled on the opposite side of the tank?
We have lost a couple other fish, on the bottom and the other fish just continued along like nothing happened...
Is it just that the dead fish was visible floating wheras when on the bottom they were overlooked by the others?
The one major thing I have been really worried about was I didnt want to overfeed.
I have 4 tetras, 2 (1 now)mollies, 2 small guppies and 2 sunburst platys (pretty small ~1")
I asked lfs one says once a day size of 50 cent piece (sonds excessive) other said enough for 3 minutes... Not very measurable in my opinion..
They mow what i give them down in less than 3, but then the filter also gets ahold of some of it, maybe a feeding ring would help.....
I have been sticking in probably 15-20 flakes once a day, is this enough, or should i feed a little less twice a day or a little more sticking to the once a day?
Thanks,
I was pretty sad myself, this is going to destroy my daughter, purtie was her favorite.
