I knew the LFS was wrong, or didn't know. The foreground plant I have used is actually Blyxa Japonica. Anyone know how this will look if planted in the front of my tank, in patches all across the length?

It will fill out nicely not patchy but is a midground plant IMO. It is at the front of the tank I have right of signature.

Check out this pic (90USG) for Blyxia as there are pics at week 3, 5 etc and you can see just how well it grows and compare it sizewise to the HC in the same scape:

I agree that it seems more suited to the midground, but what's done is done...lol. I have about a 2 to 3 inch deep foreground, and driftwood and rock barriers make it higher after the foreground, creating a barrier of sorts. It may be a bit tall, but I think it will be ok. Aesthetically, it may obscure my moss balls and nana pettite. I may have to move things around just a bit, but given the narrow places in which I had to plant this midground plant (i.e. as my foreground), I don't want to replant it again. Let's just hope my gold nugget doesn't uproot it... :good:

I wouldn't say it is hard to grow nor would I say it requires highlight. It is a bit of a weed BUT I would say it does need CO2.

I haven't seen many people have success with it in Non CO2 tanks unless they are adding a carbon supplement like Excel or EasyCarbo.
